Gate 38 - Opposition - The Gate of the Fighter

The ability to preserve individual integrity through opposition to detrimental forces.

Pressure from the root to find something worth living for, fighting for, beyond bare survival. Can be seen as fiercely independent and willing to take on a fight. Comes with mutative deafness to outside influence, giving you the edge to take what is standing in your way of finding the value of life beyond survival. Fighting to find purpose in life. Some might see it as stubbornness.

It's about the value of the individual's life, what they have deemed as valuable to them. That makes me ask, what is of value? I think the answer is; anything that person has created a meaning behind as a purpose in life beyond purely surviving. It means something to them. It's individual energy and not here to be influenced by others. Believe me, I would know. My husband has the entire channel.

I want you to think about this gate the next time you encounter a social media warrior you disagree with. Or when someone "picks a fight," and you find yourself and your beliefs triggered. It might be their fight to fight, and you don't have to agree. And they might be fighting just to fight, and you don't want to engage. Because at the end of the day, it is human to have values in life beyond survival. Not everyone fights as hard for them, that's all.

This gate can trigger the fuck out of anyone. Even if expressed with awareness of this personality trait of being a fighter. Earlier in life, I would engage, trying to force my opinions on them… Now I sit and witness and see how the other is looking for purpose, fighting for what they believe is the value beyond them. And so I smile and carry on with my badass self.

Someone not attuned to their strategy, be it emotional, sacral, splenic, or other, might not constructively use this energy. If living out of alignment and without self-awareness, they might be perceived as an asshole. And without gate 28, it can be hard to know what is worth fighting/struggling for. A victim mentality can arise from this gate leading to fighting for the sake of fighting, wasting energy engaging in battles that are not correct for them.

The other shadow of this gate is giving up before it even starts. If you have this gate, you can stand a fight as long as you have used your strategy and authority to enter the fight. Trust you have the ability to persevere and endure the battle.

Knowing what you believe in and fighting for it is a quality I obviously enjoy because I have cut out almost every single person from my first life phase as a 6/2 profile. Still, I have kept 3 people close that have the entire channel. I have the dormant hanging gate 28 twice and energetically long for gate 38. And I don't mind being compromised in this channel. I'm looking for them to show me what is worth the struggle because I fear deeply that life will end before I know what makes it worth living. I often envy them, knowing what is worth fighting for. And love to watch how this entire channel expresses itself so differently in the three of them. They teach me so much.

I'd give you personal experiences, but only having people in my life with the entire channel. Two of them have the cross of tension; I don't think I could give a good example of this gate alone with those experiences.
